Beef and Broccoli … Easy and Delicious 11-Step Recipe!

Beef 🥩 and Broccoli 🥦 is probably one of my fav takeout meals. However, by the time I get it home… the sauce has made the broccoli a little #mushy and sometimes it’s a tad #greasy.

#sheetpandinner to the rescue! After a few attempts, I think I nailed it. This is the perfect weekend food-prep dish that will make weekday lunches a breeze.

It’s terrific on rice, ramen noodles or mixed in with @yourtaylorfarms Asian cabbage salad. I’ve also made this recipe gluten-free and low-sugar by subbing in GF tamari for soy sauce and brown sugar [zero cals] for regular sugar.

INGREDIENTS:

⦿ 1 cup tamari or coconut aminos [GF… I ❤️ @sanjtamari]

⦿ 4-5 cloves garlic [finely minced or pressed]

⦿ 1 tbsp honey

⦿ 1 tbsp brown sugar [I ❤️ @swervesweetie]

⦿ 3 tbsp sesame oil

⦿ 2 tbsp rice vinegar

⦿ 1 tbsp of grated ginger

⦿ A healthy sprinkle of everything but the bagel seasoning [I ❤️ @traderjoes]

⦿ 1+ pounds flank steak [sliced in bite size pieces… cut against grain]

⦿ 2-3 cups broccoli florets

DIRECTIONS:

𝟭 Preheat oven to 425F and line a sheet pan with aluminum foil.

𝟮 In a large bowl add the tamari, garlic, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and EBTB seasoning and stir. 

𝟯 Pull out ½ cup of the marinade and reserve for the broccoli.

𝟰 Add steak to the marinade and let sit for up to an hour.

𝟱 Place the steak on the sheet pan and pop in the oven for 5-6 minutes.

𝟲 Pull out the sheet pan, add your broccoli and drizzle w/the reserved ½ cup of marinade.

𝟳 Bake for 5-6 minutes until the steak is cooked and the broc is a little tender [but not mushy].

𝟴 Add all the marinade to a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

𝟵 In a separate bowl, add 1 tbs of @bobsredmill cornstarch + 1 tbs of water. [Mix until smooth]. 

𝟭𝟬 Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the marinade and boil for 1 minute. If the sauce is too thick… just add a little water, additional tamari or coconut aminos.

𝟭𝟭 Drizzle the sauce, chopped green onions and another healthy sprinkle of EBTB.
