Here are a few more tips to make your dining safer and healthier:
Skip fish on Sunday: Fish has a short shelf life and it needs to be fresh. Most restaurants get fish deliveries twice a week and it doesn’t happen on the weekends. Fish sold on Sunday can be past its expiration date.
Check out the bathroom: If the bathroom is dirty, imagine what the kitchen looks like…
The Daily Special may not be so special: The food featured on the special may be something that is about to expire, so the manager is trying to get it sold, quickly. Be on your guard if the daily special comes in a sauce. For ex: gumbo, stew or soup.
Today’s tip: In a new restaurant, check out the bathroom before you sit down. It’s okay to leave if you feel uncomfortable.
