Tip 47- Lose Weight Today

Even I get fooled by headlines that state, “Lose 7 pounds in 7 days”. But, the only way to accomplish that amount of weight loss is to have virulent stomach flu.

I don’t believe in rapid weight loss. It’s never permanent and you usually end up gaining more than you lost.

But, there are a few things you can do to accelerate weight loss, safely:

  • No sugar in the morning. As soon as you eat sugar (juice, low fiber cereal, white bagel or toast) you set yourself up to crave sugar all day.
  • Eat 70% of your calories by mid afternoon.
  • Fiber! I take a tsp of flaxseed before dinner. This helps fill me up and take the edge off of my hunger.
  • Eat a piece of fruit before dinner to help fill you up, so you eat less.

Today’s tip: Shop for high fiber fruit: apples, pears and berries. Purchase flaxseed; Premium Gold brand is my favorite. Buy at http://www.premiumgoldflax.com/. Keep high protein foods in your frig for breakfast like eggs, chicken sausage and turkey bacon.

I watched your TV segment. That was great. I had no idea….10 tsp. My only question is a lot of the time I use Stevia to sweeten
my coffee and tea. What do you think about that…do the sugar substitutes count or do they cause their own problems with people’s metabolisms and health.

I really like Stevia. Stevia is a herb in the chrysanthemum family and it is 300 times sweeter than table sugar. It has a negligible effect on your blood sugar (it’s almost calorie free) and it can really sweeten up your coffee or tea. At this point, I don’t see any research pointing to any health problems from this herb. I use it too, although for some of my clients, it’s an acquired taste!
